Work Experience

Hi, my name is Linda and I am currently studying the Diploma course in Library and Information Services at Ultimo TAFE. In the final part of the course we have to undertake Industry Placement where we work in a library to gain on-the-job experience. Hence, I am working at St. George TAFE library for 2 days a week for 10 weeks. This is my second week and the staff have kindly given me an overview of all the different areas of work within the library. I have been on the circulation desk a few times already and carried out shelving which has to be done regularly. I am also learning about Serials, Interlibrary loans, Acquisitions and preparing the new books for the shelf. So if you are in the library and see someone with a “Trainee” badge, come and say “Hi”.
